Sharjah 24: A workshop titled "Humanising Cities... Concepts and Applications" was organised by Sharjah Department of Town Planning and Survey (SDTPS) to introduce the principles of humanising the city by putting people at the centre of urban planning and design and encouraging their interaction with the built environment.

Held at the Sharjah Research Technology and Innovation Park, the workshop was attended Eng. Khalid bin Butti Al Muhairi, Member of the Executive Council and Chairman of the SDTPS, directors of departments, and several members of municipal councils in the emirate. Dr. Salem Al Shafei, Managing and Executive Director of the Emirates Urban Planning Association, presented the workshop.

The workshop reviewed the definition of the concept, " Humanisation of cities, from a variety of local and global perspectives, as well as its advantages to society.
