Sharjah24: Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and President of the University of Sharjah (UoS), inaugurated on Monday morning the University of Sharjah Diabetes Center, Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed toured the corridors of the center, which is the first of its kind in Sharjah to care for patients with diabetes and obesity and provides educational and training programmes specialised in this fields.

The center aims to improve the quality of life for patients with diabetes and obesity in the UAE by combining modern healthcare for diabetes and obesity with high-quality research, professional education and the promotion of community awareness.

The center includes three departments:
1. Department of Health Care.
2. The Department of Education and Training.
3. The Research Department.

The center offers a master of science programme in diabetes management, which was launched in 2020 and has attracted students from various fields of health care, bringing the number of students in it to nearly twenty-five students studying various sciences in the field of diabetes and being clinically trained to care for patients with diabetes and to lead research projects Several in the field of diabetes.
