Nahyan bin Mubarak witnesses National Science,Technology Festival

Sharjah24 – WAM: Under the patronage of Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, witnessed the opening of the fifth edition of the National Science, Technology and Innovation Festival, at the Dubai Exhibition Center at Expo 2020 Dubai.
The event opening was also witnessed by Hussain bin Ibrahim Al Hammadi, Minister of Education, and Lieutenant General Dhahi Khalfan Tamim, Deputy Chairman of Police and Public Security in Dubai, Chairman of Emirates Association for the Gifted, along with a number of officials.

The festival translates the vision of the UAE wise leadership, and the plans of the Ministry of Education to highlight the importance of innovation in its broad and comprehensive concept across all aspects of life.

Sheikh Nayhan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan delivered the inaugural keynote speech, entitled "How EXPO Established a Global Platform to Consolidate the Principles of Peace and Tolerance Among the Different Cultures of the World".

For his part, the Minister of Education gave a keynote speech entitled "Deepening and Reinforcing the Culture of Innovation and Creativity Among Generations".

The 5th National Science, Technology and Innovation Festival features the Science Conference, Emirates Young Scientist Competition, Junior Innovators Challenge, Innovation Lab, and many other events and activities.

Greg Foot, Content Creator and Science Presenter and Producer, talked about "Making Science Go Viral".

Dr. Nawal Al-Hosany, UAE Permanent Representative to the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), addressed a panel discussion entitled "How Today's Science Shapes a New Era of Sustainability Accessible to the UAE and Humanity".

As part of the 5th National Science, Technology and Innovation Festival, outstanding graduate students will have the chance to compete in the Sciencepreneurs Competition and exhibit their innovative solutions that will take them to new career heights.

100 projects spanning four different fields are competing within the Emirates Young Scientist Competition, while 63 students, within 3 age groups and from different UAE schools, will partake in the Junior Innovators Challenge.
