Sharjah24 - Reuters: Four months after the construction of the Chivo-Pet Veterinary Hospital began on the outskirts of capital San Salvador in El Salvador, the medical facility opened its doors on Saturday (February 26) to serve Salvadoran pet owners.
According to the government of El Salvador's President Nayib Bukele, the hospital was built with a bitcoin fund of $4 million approved by the Legislative Assembly.

The hospital has high-tech equipment and offers grooming services, ER, 24/7 consultation services, external consultations, hospitalisations, rehabilitation, surgery and lab tests for the symbolic cost of 25 cents per service, paid for with bitcoin.

The hospital is open every day from 7:00am to 10:00pm and pet owners are able to book appointments via a website or by calling.

The hospital expects to treat 380 pets on a daily basis.

Bukele visited the hospital facilities on Wednesday (February 23) prior to opening.
