SCCI discusses leveraging Sharjah-Mexico co-investment

Sharjah24: Abdullah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s (SCCI’s) Board of Directors, met with Tatiana Clouthir, Mexican Minister of Economy, and a number of officials from the Ministry and the Mexican Embassy in the country, today, Wednesday, in the Sharjah Chamber's representative office at Expo 2020 Dubai, in the presence of a number of Chamber officials and staff.
The meeting explored potential for collaboration and partnership that would help to the growth of economic, trade, and investment connections between the two friendly nations, as well as procedures for capitalizing on investment opportunities in a variety of sectors.

Al Owais emphasized the importance of strengthening economic and investment cooperation relations with Mexico and developing commercial connections between local companies and institutions and the Mexican business community, outlining the numerous advantages that the Emirate of Sharjah offers foreign investors and urging the Mexican delegation to encourage the Mexican private sector to participate in specialized and public exhibitions organized by the Expo Centre in Sharjah.

The Mexican Minister of Economy lauded the UAE's distinguished relations at all levels, highlighting the Sharjah Chamber's active role in consolidating economic and trade ties between the two countries and expressed the Mexican business community's desire to expand opportunities for cooperation with its counterparts in the UAE and Sharjah.

 The UAE-Mexico partnership is built on a dynamic and renewable model for creating opportunities and sustainable partnerships, as evidenced by the continued growth of non-oil trade between the two countries, which reached approximately 1.3 billion dollars (approximately 4.77 billion dirhams) in 2020.
