Sharjah24: Sharjah Asset Management (SAM) Holding, the investment arm of the Government of Sharjah, Wednesday inaugurated the Al Jubail 1441 Restaurant at Souq Al Jubail. Specializing in seafood, it is set to become the crème de la crème of seafood restaurants in the Emirate of Sharjah and the country.

Humaid Al Aleeli, Director of Hospitality Sector at Sharjah Asset Management Company, confirmed that Al Jubail 1441 Restaurant, with its wonderful ambiance, artistic design, and fine dining, not to mention its distinct menu that will thrill seafood lovers, will offer an unprecedented experience in the emirate. He added that the restaurant looks forward to redefining the meaning of tasting and rediscovering the joy of eating seafood.

He said: “The restaurant offers an experience inspired by the richness of Sharjah's heritage, civilization, and culture, given the surrounding marine environment, its beautiful view of the sea, and being housed in one of the most beautiful urban buildings in Sharjah. We have also made sure to hire one of the best chefs in the UAE and the Arab world, who, with the help of his experienced team, will delight the senses of guests with rich, unique dishes.”

The secret behind its name
The restaurant takes its name from the Hijri year “1441” of its establishment and serves as the beginning of Sharjah Asset Management’s foray into the high-end hospitality sector. It draws its strength from the market’s position, its rich contents, and the strong relationship between the market, the fishermen and the sea. It is considered one of the best and most diverse fish markets in the Gulf. It is also a meeting place for fishermen and seafood lovers, and an amazing must-visit tourist, urban and service landmark. Furthermore, it forms part of Sharjah's identity.

The restaurant also includes a modern café with the same standards of quality and attention to detail, allowing shoppers and market visitors the opportunity to relax and unwind while shopping, or to meet with family and friends in a place where the horizon stretches endlessly across the sea.

A library for His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah’s publications 
The café contains a library that includes all the publications of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah. In the publications, which are available in several languages, His Highness deals with historical, social and literary issues, enriching readers’ minds while they enjoy a hot or cold drink. The café offers a variety of specialty coffees, including Arabic coffee. 

In addition to its main role of providing in the needs of citizens and residents, Souq Al Jubail, which opened in December 2015, is considered a family entertainment destination. The market offers various types of local and imported meat, fresh fish, vegetables, fruits, and other foodstuffs at competitive prices. Souq Al Jubail boasts the largest fish market in Sharjah and includes 67 shops selling meat and poultry, and more than 160 shops for vegetables and fruits.
