Sharjah24: Brigadier General Ahmed Haji Al Sarkal, Director General of Police Operations at the General Command of Sharjah Police, chaired a meeting with the Sharjah Public Prosecution (SPP) Office in the House of Wisdom, to discuss preparations and readiness to implement the procedures for the new anti-narcotic and mental indicators law, in the presence of a number of specialised officers.

At the beginning of the meeting, Brigadier General Ahmed Haji Al Sarkal welcomed the attendees, stressing the importance of continuous cooperation and communication with all the government agencies and entities in the emirate, contributing in achieving the common strategic goals and plans.

Brigadier General Al Sarkal stressed the Sharjah Police's endeavor and keenness to exchange experiences with the Sharjah Public Prosecution, emphasising on its prominent role to limit the spread of the scourge of drugs in society, expressing his thanks to the attendance of the Public Prosecution and the officers and personnel of the Anti-Narcotics Department, praising their efforts in combating drug crimes.

The meeting reviewed the discussion of Federal Law No. (30) of 2021, regarding combating narcotics and psychotropic substances, and highlighted the crimes stipulated in it, and the new legal articles in the original penalties.
