Sharjah 24 – AFP: This week, 1,000 inhabitants were allowed to return to their houses since being evacuated after the Cumbre Vieja volcano erupted on the Spanish island of La Palma on September 19, spreading lava and dense clouds of ash into the air.
They won't be able to return to their houses straight soon, as their excitement is dampened by the discovery of everything buried in ash.

In addition to clogging doors and passageways with ash, the eruption's lava destroyed pipelines, leaving the homes without running water.

The lava has also blocked a crucial road in the Aridane valley, forcing locals to go considerably further around the island for essential amenities that used to take only five minutes.
