SCIE announces winners of Islamic Economics Research Prize

Sharjah 24: Sharjah Centre for Islamic Economics (SCIE) announced the results of “Al Qasimia University Award for Islamic Economics Research” in its second session 2020, held under the auspices of Sharjah Islamic Bank, after it received wide participation by academics and researchers in the Arab world, and they prepared solid scientific studies that contributed to enriching science and knowledge in the fields and branches of Islamic economy.
His Excellency Dr. Ibrahim Al Mansoori, Executive Director of Sharjah Centre for Islamic Economics, confirmed that the second session of the award saw the participation of creative specialised academics who devoted their efforts to rooting the concept of scientific research in the fields of Islamic economics, in their respective legal and economic fields, and contributed to spreading its culture in the community locally, regionally and globally to deserve the award. 

His Excellency Dr. Ibrahim Al Mansoori added that the Award is a gesture of appreciation and honour in appreciation of the specialised academics’ sincere and tireless work to activate the role of scientific research and to show its impact on improving the quality of services provided by Islamic financial institutions.

Al Mansouri indicated that Sharjah Centre for Islamic Economics and out of its vision to be the international reference for Islamic digital economy and finance, and to achieve its mission of excellence in linking the labour market with the developments of Islamic digital economy and finance by developing its tools for research in accordance with best practices and international standards, to announce the names of the winners. 

His Excellency Dr. Ibrahim Al Mansoori  praised the efforts of Sharjah Islamic Bank in sponsoring the award.

His Excellency Prof. Awad Al Khalaf, Acting President of Al Qasimia University, congratulated the winners for their valuable presentation of the topics of Islamic economics and branches at the level of the Arab world, explaining that the award is moving forward in achieving its goals set by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member The Supreme Council, Ruler of Sharjah, in promoting an environment of intellectual creativity and scientific excellence in the field of Islamic economics in a manner that ensures finding solutions that lead to the advancement of the Islamic financial industry.

His Excellency Prof. Awad Al Khalaf pointed out that in light of the announcement of the winners for the second session, the award is proud to adapt scientific research to modern technology in Islamic financial applications in order to achieve progress in Islamic banking, and help to overcome the difficulties faced by Islamic banks besides benefiting from the results of scientific research in providing an environment that attracts expertise and competencies, and achieves sustainable development for Islamic financial institutions in all business sectors.
