Sharjah 24: Al Sharqiya Kalba TV, affiliated with the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority (SBA), presents the new programme "Al Mahmal", which highlights the marine environment in the UAE in general and the eastern region in particular.

Over the course of 13 minutes, every Friday, at 07:15 pm, the programme will tackle a range of topics related to the sea, such as diving, shipbuilding, travel, fishing, and others, which shows how the ancestors lived within this environment and methods of practicing marine professions.

The programme relies on experienced people in the marine environment who are residents of the eastern region.  Father Muhammad Abdullah Al Naqbi, presents the topics of the programme in an a very interesting way through his experience and long coexistence with the sea. Then, in each episode, he hosts two guests from the region to enrich the topic at hand, often, guests are seafarers who recount the memories of the ancient sea and the tools they used in their professions.

"Al Mahmal" programme highlights the beauty of the eastern region, especially the coast and marine environment, which constitute one of the most important tourist attractions in Sharjah and the UAE.
