Sharjah24 – Reuters: The so-called official kick off to award season started on Monday in New York as the Gotham Awards celebrated the best in independent films and television.

Netflix's hit show, "Squid Game" won best breakthrough series (long format).

The show's creator Lee Jung-Jae is thrilled about the show's success.

"We wanted it to be this popular, but we didn't know that it would be actually this popular. So, we're just really surprised."
