Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Directorate of Public Works (SDPW) and Sharjah Housing Department (SHD) commemorated the 50th National Day with unique ceremonies as part of their dedication to the symbolic remembering of the UAE's foundation.

Engineer Ali bin Shaheen Al Suwaidi, Chairman of SDPW, Dr Khalifa Musabeh Al Tunaiji, Chairman of SHD, Engineer Al Hosani, Director of the Housing Department, directors and heads of departments, and a group of employees from both departments attended the ceremony.

Following the UAE's rendition of the national anthem, the ceremony featured two speeches by the Chairmen of the Departments of Public Works and Housing, cultural and heritage competitions, special exhibitions, pavilions for information technology and traditional food, and a pavilion for displaying three-dimensional models of the department's projects. 

On  the occasion of the UAE 50th National Day, Al Suwaidi extended his warmest compliments and congratulations to President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan; His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai; His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces; His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and their brothers, Their Highnesses Members of the Supreme Council, Rulers of the Emirates, and  the Crown Princes, citizens and residents of UAE. 

All divisions of the Department of Public Works in the central and eastern regions celebrated the National Day, expressing love for the nation and reaffirming their continued loyalty to it.
