SRERD succeeds in renewing "ISO 27001" certificate

Sharjah24: As part of its continuous efforts to offer the best services to its clients, and to achieve its strategic plan aimed at providing high quality services to the real estate sector in the emirate, the Sharjah Real Estate Registration Department has accomplished a new achievement represented in its success in renewing the ISO certificate (ISO 27001:2013) for the global information security management system, and for a period of three years.
This achievement came after successfully passing the audit and evaluation process conducted by the British Standards Institute (BSI), through which it was ensured that all procedures and systems followed in the department correspond with the standards and conditions of this internationally approved certificate.

The department’s success in renewing this global certificate confirms its commitment to applying the highest international standards of information security, and continuous assessment of all risks, in addition to implementing an effective set of information security policies that are applied to the various operations which are carried out to serve the customers in Sharjah.

This standard, which is developed by the International Organization for Standardization and Metrology (ISO), aims to create an effective system for managing information security in companies and institutions through the application of a set of requirements that ensure the preservation of information, its confidentiality, safety, and availability to the persons concerned with it, in order to achieve business continuity in the best and most secure way.

His Excellency Abdulaziz Al Shamsi, Director-General of Sharjah Real Estate Registration Department, said: “The Department’s success in renewing this certificate, which was obtained for the first time in 2019, enhances its local and regional reputation, and increases the confidence of our customers in the safety of our applied work procedures. We aim to provide high quality services, including the provision of an advanced information security system, through the application of international best practices, whereby the system maintains the confidentiality and security of customers’ information.”

Al Shamsi expressed his appreciation to all employees who participated in obtaining this new achievement for the department, stressing that the greatest credit is due to the cooperation of the various departments and sections and the integration between them, as part of our constant efforts to provide the best services to all workers in the real estate sector in the various regions of Sharjah.

Salwa Salem Al-Mahri, Director of the Information Technology Department in Sharjah Real Estate Registration department, said: “This certificate reflects the department’s commitment to applying international standards in its work, and its constant keenness to redouble its efforts aimed at employing the best advanced technologies in order to ensure the confidentiality and security of the information and data of its customers.”
