Arab Rowing Championships arrive Al Hamriyah Beach

Sharjah 24: Teams and delegations participating in the Arab Coastal Rowing Championship, held under the patronage of Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, and organised by Sharjah Sports Council (SSC) in cooperation with Al Hamriya Sports Club in its first edition and partnership with a number of institutions and authorities, including the Emirates Rowing and Sailing Federation, have arrived.
Competitions will start on Thursday 25 November at Al Hamriyah Beach in Sharjah and will continue for three days.

During the past two days, participating teams from all Arab countries, including Egypt, Tunisia and Palestine rowing teams, began training on Al Hamriyah Beach in preparation for the official competitions. 

At the same time, the UAE national rowing team participated in training and friendly competitions to prepare for the event.

Abdul Malik Jani, Vice President of Sharjah Sports Council, Chairman of the Individual Games Committee, confirmed that the tournament will be the largest in Sharjah in terms of the number of Arab participation, pointing out that the preparations are going in full swing to host the event in cooperation with the organising partners from the concerned authorities.

Jani explained that the tournament is a huge leap in water sports competitions, especially beach kayaking, and reflects the interest of Sharjah to support and develop the game by taking advantage of our wide beaches.

Jani welcomed the delegations of the participating teams, wishing them success, noting that the tournament will be held in light of the recovery that the UAE is witnessing following the Corona pandemic and that hosting the competitions in the Emirate of Sharjah reflects the great success it has achieved in addressing the pandemic hosting major events sports.

Jani stressed inviting the participants and the technical and administrative bodies to adhere to the precautionary measures to reach success, and he extended thanks and appreciation to the members of the organising committee and the work team for their great efforts to come up with the event in the best way.
