Sharjah 24: About 225 million dirhams were invested in the first half of the year by Sharjah Charity International (SCI), including 25 million dirhams for orphans and sponsored children and 20 million dirhams for medical aid in addition to supporting hundreds of needy families, according to Executive Director Abdullah Sultan bin Khadem of SCI.
As stated by Ibn Khadem, the primary goal of the Charity is to translate His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah’s directives supporting beneficiaries and preserving their dignity and rights, citing the fact that charitable work is no longer traditional. A significant role in the community is now maintained by the SCI's services.

Since its inception, the Sharjah Charity International has been a leading institution in social, humanitarian, and charitable work on a national and international level, making it a worthy recipient of the second Emirates Award for Humanitarian and Social Work, which was presented by the Sociological Association Sunday.
