Sharjah 24: A delegation from the Committee on Islamic Affairs, Endowments, Municipalities, Security Affairs and Public Utilities of the Sharjah Consultative Council (SCC) visited the General Directorate of Civil Defense (GDCD) in Sharjah, on Wednesday within the framework of the Committee’s work for the third regular session of the tenth legislative term.

The purpose of the visit was to review the various services provided in Sharjah and determine its readiness.

Obaid Al Qadib Al Tunaiji, Rapporteur of the Public Utilities Committee, indicated the Committee’s keenness to visit the General Directorate of Civil Defense to see its capabilities, programmes, and initiatives.

The Committee also discussed the best practices applied by the General Directorate of Civil Defense in Sharjah to ensure the safety of the individual and society.

The General Directorate of Civil Defense provided explanations about its security and safety strategy to keep pace with the growth witnessed by Sharjah.
