Sharjah24 – Reuters: Jordanian cake designer Lina Qteishat combines her passion for baking with art to produce unique pieces for special occasions.

Inspired by geometric shapes and local art, Qteishat commissions artists to paint on her cakes.

"We have many artists who are brilliant and their work is lovely. I thought why not draw on cakes? If we can draw on anything, why not cake?" said Qteishat.

Using chocolate to shape her cakes and as a surface to paint on, Qteishat also uses natural dyes for colouring.

Huddled on a desk and using intricate brushes to paint, local artist Jehad Haddad describes painting on cakes as challenging.

Although the prices of Qteishat cakes are more expensive than usual, according to her, the turnout is big, as people enjoy personalising cakes for their loved ones.

Qteishat, who established her business in 2019, tries to bring out the character of her clients through her pieces by highlighting their passion, hobbies or professions.
