Sharjah 24: The Child Safety Department (CSD) of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah combined awareness, reading and colouring during its participation in the 40th Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF), whereas the Department organised a number of awareness and artistic workshops, taking children on a journey of fun, learning and creativity.
On the occasion of Bullying Prevention Week, the Child Safety Department, during SIBF, launched the first comics in cooperation with Majid magazine, aiming at educating children on how to deal with bullying.

Child Safety Department activities included a number of workshops, the first entitled “Masoud Al Batal” (Masoud the hero), in which the trainer, Soraya Al Marzouqi, introduced children to the rules and basics to be followed to ensure their safety at home. The second workshop, entitled "A Trip to the Market", during which children learned how to protect themselves from getting lost in public places, and how to deal with strangers if not accompanied by their parents.

In a workshop entitled "The Duck Tam Tam", the children were introduced to the difference between a good and a bad secret, while the training in the "Morning Race" workshop, which was presented by Maryam Al Abdouli, focused on safety in a car and urged children to adhere to wearing the seat belt.

Aiming at educating children about a number of safety rules, the Department combined awareness and drawing and provided children with drawings that included tips and instructions on dealing with bullying and safety rules outside home. Moreover, awareness videos were shown on the Department platform in SIBF.
