SEDD signs Age-Friendly Charter

Sharjah 24: In accordance with His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, the Sharjah Economic Development Department (SEDD) signed the "Age-Friendly Charter" as part of the Supreme Committee’s strategic plan initiatives of the Sharjah Age-Friendly City Programme to follow up on Sharjah's entry into the global network of age-friendly cities.
"We are pleased, as we sign this Charter today, that it is a continuation of the joint cooperation based on serving the senior citizens in the Emirate of Sharjah," His Excellency Sultan Abdullah bin Haddah Al Suwaidi, Chairman of the Sharjah Economic Development Department (SEDD), said, "as the signing of this document is an important achievement in line with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and the follow-up of Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of Sharjah Executive Council (SEC).

He went on to say that the Emirate cares deeply about the seniors and has taken a number steps to ensure their well-being.
