Sharjah24 : Sharjah Asset Management Company (AMC), the investment arm of the Government of Sharjah, has announced the start of building a sewage treatment plant in Souq Al-Haraj, according to modern sewage systems, and this comes within its agenda and strategy related to developing infrastructure and providing the best public utility services for traders, investors and individuals, meeting their needs, and enhancing their happiness and well-being.

Saeed Matar Al-Suwaidi, director of Souq Al-Haraj, said that the remarkable turnout which the market has witnessed since its establishment in 2016 by dealers and investors, and by car enthusiasts, requires a continuous development of the infrastructure and various mechanisms and procedures that add value for the place and achieve the highest levels of attraction for dealers and visitors.

Al-Suwaidi added, "Sharjah Asset Management Company is keen to harness its expertise in the field of investment in infrastructure projects, to enrich the market and the Emirate of Sharjah with exceptional projects and innovative services, which enhance the principles of global competitiveness and achieve proactive steps in various sectors and fields."

Al-Suwaidi pointed out that the market is one of the most important global platforms for car trading, due to its unique developed infrastructure, which forms a link between car dealers and consumers.

In addition, Souq Al Haraj includes more than 358 car showrooms, 31 accessories stores, 22 retail shops, and there are about 20,000 parking spaces for exhibition cars, and about 5,000 parking spaces for visitors and market goers, and it aims to provide a main destination for buying and selling cars in Sharjah, which contributes to supporting the car trade sector and revitalizing the economic movement in the emirate. The market occupies an area of more than 420,000 square meters, at a cost of 250 million dirhams, and is the largest in the region, it also includes car showrooms, multi-purpose stores selling car accessories, and the availability of technical inspection and vehicle registration services, which saves showroom owners and customers a lot of time and effort, and provides various services and luxuries under one roof.
