Bin Shaml: Souq Al Jubail enhances fishing sector in Kalba

Sharjah24: Mohammed Ibrahim bin Shaml, Vice President of the Kalba Cooperative Society for Fishermen confirmed that the city's fishing sector is expected to witness a dramatic surge in the coming period as a result of the start of work on some projects supporting it, stressing that Souq Al Jubail and the port development is a significant addition to the fishing sector in Kalba.
The Kalba Fisherman Cooperative Society appreciated the great support given by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to the society, its affiliates, and all workers in the fishing sector and various sectors in the city of Kalba, which is witnessing a great renaissance at all levels.

Muhammad Ibrahim bin Shaml, vice president of the Cooperative Society, said in statements to “Sharjah 24” that the work of the kalba Fishermen Co-op Association is in continuous growth as a result of this generous and continuous support of His Highness, enabling the Association to work on establishing some investment projects to support the fishermen and meet their needs.

He has lauded the noticeable improvement in the fishing sector as a result of the inauguration of work on some projects supporting the sector, including Souq Al Jubail, which started its construction work and includes a developed market for selling fish.

Bin Shaml added that Souq Al Jubail will enhance consumer choices  and regulate the work of the fishermen, in addition to its role in controlling selling prices for various types of fish.

Among the projects that the Vice President of the Kalba Cooperative Society for Fishermen sees as promising and important projects for the sector, is the project to expand and develop the port and provide it with marine parking lots for cruisers and boats, and other parking lots for cars.

Speaking about the impact of the fishing movement in Kalba as a result of the repercussions of the tropical situation in the Sea of Oman in the past few days, he said that the impact of the situation was limited and represented the suspension of the fishing movement for 5 days, and slight damage to the boats of some fishermen.
