SCHS wins Arabia CSR Award

Sharjah 24: Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services (SCHS) won the 14th Arabian Corporate Social Responsibility Award, organised, Monday, by Arabia CSR Network under the generous patronage of Eng. Sheikh Salem bin Sultan bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Member of Ras Al Khaimah Executive Council and President of Ras Al Khaimah Department of Civil Aviation, and the presence of a large number of nominees for the award.
On this occasion, Mona Abdul Karim Al Yafie, Director of Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services confirmed that SCHS success is based on the sound directives of Sheikha Jameela bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Director General of Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services, to consolidate the principles of social responsibility and based on her vision of inclusion, advocacy and empowering persons with disabilities in accordance with the global best practices.

Al Yafie said that SCHS effectively faced the Covid-19 pandemic, whereas it was able to continue providing services, achieving goals, overcoming difficulties and facing challenges thanks to the successful wise leadership, determination, dedication, teamwork, and setting alternative plans in preparation for the crises that may face SCHS in the future.

Ms. Khadija Ahmed Bamakhrama, SCHS head of planning and follow-up, added that SCHS met all the award criteria, based on a set of global foundations, including the standards of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and the standards of Charter of the United Nations; the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM) model; and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, whereas SCHS managed to meet them efficiently and effectively.

Ms. Khadija Ahmed Bamakhrama concluded that since its foundation in 1979, Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services has adopted the principle of social responsibility and sustainability as a concept and value, being an essential part of its purposeful mission and a fundamental pillar of sustainability, stability and development in SCHS programmes and services that benefit people with disabilities, their families and society in general.
