"In the United Arab Emirates, we always look forward to find the one who will raise the flag of this nation not just as a gain but, as a symbol of this nation participation in international events where we see the nation’s flag flies over such activities”.
His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, in 2021, during the reception of the UAE national team participating in the 2020 Paralympic Games, Tokyo, Japan.

Honouring, motivating and encouraging the UAE champions with special needs, His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah was keen, as usual, to deliver wise messages explaining the meanings of sports competition, and international participation in the name of the United Arab Emirates, which is the great pride for athletes to dream about and aspire to.

His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah stressed the keenness of the UAE including all administrative and executive institutions, to provide all the necessary care, attention, support and assistance to youth with special needs, and to others, in different fields in general, and sports in particular, to receive rehabilitation and training to carry and raise the nation’s flag among the countries participating in international fora.

Such care represents the nation’s strategy stemming from a solid knowledge of the importance of sports in the lives of youth and supporting youth excellence.  Such strategy aims at delivering youth message to their peers from all over the world, showing their real level and great talents reflecting the development of their society and nation, which in turn, means the good management of the nation's reputation, in addition to the UAE anthem played in front of all nations at the time of being honoured and receiving prizes.

His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah noted that foreign participations, such annual events, marked a positive sign that the nation is progressing in all global indicators. His Highness added that the nation’s flag, carried by young men and women as future leaders, rises with pride, in each and every global forum that gathers delegations from all countries.

His Highness concluded that this is an invitation to youth to intensify their efforts to reach the highest ranks and degrees in the world.
