Sharjah 24: Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, visited, on Monday, the smart indoor shooting range at the Sharjah Police Science Academy (SPSA), which was recently inaugurated in conjunction with SPSA’s celebrations of the silver jubilee of its founding in 1996.
Sheikh Sultan listened to a detailed explanation about the smart shooting range, which meets the standards of the best international ranges in terms of its advanced equipment. The smart shooting range is now ready to receive police officers and employees, and organise police and sports events.

The smart shooting range allows the use of different types of weapons, and provides more than 900 training scenarios, as well as the possibility of adding new scenarios to develop the training of police. In addition, the smart shooting range puts into consideration various safety assumptions in shooting, and includes 8 lanes, a large thermal screen, and the possibility of shooting from various distances.

The smart shooting range constitutes a qualitative addition to the Sharjah Police and SPSA, and reflects the Emirate's interest in qualifying all police personnel with the necessary skills and raising their level of readiness for emergency and other situations in all police and security fields.

Sheikh Sultan was accompanied during his visit by Major General Saif Al Zari Al Shamsi, Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police, Dr. Khaled Omar Al Midfa, Chairman of Sharjah Media City (Shams), Mohammed Hassan Khalaf, Director General of the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority, Brigadier General Dr. Mohammed Khamis Al Athmni, Director General of SPSA, and Hassan Yaqoub Al Mansouri, Secretary General of the Sharjah Media Council.
