Sharjah24: Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, the activities of the 6th session of the Sharjah Cultural Honors Forum (SCHF) in the Arab Republic of Egypt launched on Thursday morning, at the Supreme Council of Culture in Cairo, where four Egyptian writers were honoured.

The forum aims to honour the Arab personalities who have contributed to the service of contemporary Arab culture, in line with the directives of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah to enhance supporting Arab intellectuals.

The Egyptian capital witnessed a joyful ceremony, in the presence of His Excellency Abdullah Al Owais, Chairman of Sharjah Department of Culture (SDC) , Her Excellency Dr. Enas Abdel Dayem, Egyptian Minister of Culture, Mr. Mohamed Ibrahim Al Qaseer, Director of Cultural Affairs at the Department of Culture, and Mr. Rashid Al Shehhi, representing the UAE Embassy in Egypt, the Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Culture, Dr. Hisham Azmy, and a large number of Egyptian intellectuals and writers and the families of the honourees.

During the honouring ceremony, a speech was delivered by His Excellency Abdullah Al Owais, Her Excellency Dr. Enas Abdel Dayem and Dr. Hisham Azmy, in which they emphasised the depth of cultural relations between the two countries.

At the outset, the Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Culture, Dr. Hisham Azmy, expressed his happiness for the council's hosting of such a historic honourable initiative.

Commenting on this, His Excellency Abdullah Al Owais has expressed his pleasure with the cultural gesture that promotes the historical relations between the United Arab Emirates and the Arab Republic of Egypt, under the wise vision of the wise leadership, conveying the congratulations and greetings of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah to the honorees.

For her part, Her Excellency Dr. Enas Abdel Dayem expressed her thanks to His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, appreciaitng His Highness’ generous sponsorship of this forum and lauding his continuous and unremitting efforts to support the march of Arab culture and Arab intellectuals throughout the Arab world. She also praised the remarkable role of the Sharjah Department of Culture in organizing the forum, under the chairmanship of His Excellency Abdullah Al Owais.

The four honorees delivered speeches in which they praised Sharjah's continuous cultural support and care for Arab intellectuals, considering the honour a historic initiative.

Then, the Chairman of Sharjah Department of Culture and the Minister of Culture in Egypt presented certificates of appreciation, in recognition of the distinguished role of the honoured writers.
