SCI implements projects worth AED2.5bn over 10 years

Sharjah 24: Sheikh Saqr bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Sharjah Charity International (SCI), stated that SCI has been able, over the past ten years, to implement aid, charitable projects and humanitarian campaigns with a total value of nearly 2.5 billion dirhams, which it started with spending 104 million dirhams in 2010, reaching 266 million dirhams in 2020.
Sheikh Saqr stressed the importance of humanitarian work for its effective contribution to meeting the life requirements of those facing difficulties and critical conditions, and its role in promoting and establishing the value of humanity among the people of the world.

Sheikh Saqr said in a statement on the occasion of the World Humanitarian Day, which falls on August 19 of each year, that such efforts is based on UAE's principles, its constitution, the directives of its leadership and its continuous approach to providing humanitarian and charitable support to everyone in need, adding that the concept of humanitarian work has become an integral part from the initiatives of the country and the activities of its various institutions.

Sheikh Saqr maintained that the SCI translates the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah. This comes through the significant impact on the lives of the beneficiaries, aiming to empowering them to rely on themselves and helping them to provide their basic needs of a decent living.
 
Sheikh Saqr Al Qasimi revealed that SCI’s projects are divided into projects within the UAE and external projects, and in both cases SCI works on implementing, following up and supervising them, all of which are in the essence of humanitarian and charitable work.

Sheikh Saqr Al Qasimi thanked the benefactors for their generous donations and contributions during a march full of hard work to serve the message of goodness and humanity, which was planted by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
