Sharjah 24: Al Dhaid Cultural and Sports Club honoured the winners of Al Dhaid virtual chess competition, the first summer competition, with the participation of nine teams, held within summer activity programmes, under the umbrella of the Sharjah Sports Council (SSC).

Enhancing precautionary measures to preserve public health, the competition was held virtually, where players' performance on the electronic chessboard was very successful.

The competition was was divided into two tournaments, the first tournament was below 8 and ten years old, with the participation of 95 players, and the second tournament below 12, 14, and 16 years old, where 175 players participated. 

After the conclusion, Al Dhaid Cultural and Sports Club honoured the winners of Al Dhaid International Virtual Chess Championship 2021,  and the summer activity “Our Holiday is different”, where Sharjah Cultural and Chess Club, Sharjah, Sharjah Inetrnational Chess Academy, Sharjah Ladies Chess and Cultural Club, Al Hamriyah Cultural and Sports Club, Al Batayih Cultural & Sports Club,  Maleiha Sports Club, Khorfakkan Sports Club and Al Ittihad Kalba Sports Club.

In conclusion, Salem Mohammed bin Huwaiden Al Ketbi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Dhaid Cultural and Sports Club, honoured the winners of the first place in each category and honoured the players, in the presence of Dr. Hammoud Khalaf Salem, Executive Director of the Club, administrators and coaches of the club.
