Sharjah 24: An academic research revealed that the programmes of the Sharjah TV of the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority (SBA) apply the 86% of the standards of purposeful media, and is committed to a clear vision to raise public awareness, applying the Arab and Islamic cultural dimensions.
The PhD study was conducted by Sudanese researcher, Randa Abdullah, on Sharjah TV, entitled “The Role of Arab Satellite Channels in Promoting the Functions of Specialised Islamic Media.” Randa Abdullah relied on a survey of a sample of Sharjah TV programmes viewers during the years 2015 to 2019.

Regarding the reason for which she chose Sharjah TV to be her PhD research topic, the researcher explained that the content of her thesis is dedicated to shedding light on an Arab channel concerned with specialised Islamic media, that highlights the elements of media within values and purposeful messages that address members of the Arab family, noting that she found this equation to be achieved in Sharjah TV.

The researcher drew attention to the depth of the targeted messages that Sharjah TV presents in its programmes to Arab and international viewers, within the channel's vision to provide content that addresses the society, from a perspective that depends on transmitting information to the viewer, and a cultural orientation that takes into account the moderate Arab and Islamic civilisational.

Regarding the role of the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority (SBA) in facilitating her research, the researcher explained that SBA solved all problems, and facilitated the task of collecting information from the ground, noting that she received the invitation from SBA to come to the United Arab Emirates to complete the steps required by the research.

The researcher praised the support she received from SBA collecting Sharjah TV viewers' questionnaire, which included topics related to all functions of the specialised Islamic media, in addition to the personal interviews that supported the research.
