SEWA wins first place nationwide award for recycling printer inks

Sharjah 24: Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (SEWA) won first place at the UAE level for the fourth year in a row in the waste management and recycling of printer inks award in the enterprise category, which is organised annually by the Emirates Environmental Group (EEG), for collecting and recycling 2,063 ink bottles.
This came during a virtual ceremony organised by the EEG on the occasion of World Environment Day under the generous patronage and in the presence of Eng. Sheikh Salem bin Sultan bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Member of the Executive Council of the Government of Ras Al Khaimah and Chairman of Ras Al Khaimah Department of Civil Aviation and honourary member of the EEG.

Abdullah Abdul Rahman Al Shamsi, Director of the General Department of Institutional Support Services at the SEWA, confirmed that the Authority’s winning of this award in light of the current circumstances confirms its interest in the environment and its keenness to launch various initiatives that contribute to raising the level of cultural and knowledge awareness among members of society of the importance of rationalising energy consumption and preserving  the environment, taking into account the environmental aspects in all the projects it implements.
