Sharjah 24: Intaj Centre in Sharjah Social Services Department (SSSD) launched an electronic store that allows members owning home projects to display and sell their products online. The initiative comes within the SSSD framework of empowering productive families.
The online store allows customers to easily order products, such as perfumes, children and women products, fashion accessories, and handicraft.

Maryam Al Hammadi, Production Centre Manager said that SSSD’s goal is to help members to develop, their projects and market their products.  Launching a website is one of SSSD objectives, aiming to provide appropriate opportunities for families to sell their products online, and contribute to create a positive competitive advantage by providing an enjoyable and unique shopping experience for both sellers and shoppers from various members of society.

The Centre tackles administrative, coordination and logistical operations related to products sales, in addition to delivery services through partnerships with shipping companies.

Members who wish to join the online service, must be SSSD beneficiaries, obtain a license from the Department of Economic Development, and must provide quality products that meet the needs of the local market.

Maryam Al Hammadi added that, since the beginning, the centre has worked to promote the idea of home production, as it holds many opportunities, generating income for families benefiting from the social assistance of SSSD, leading them to be financially independent through an integrated system aimed at training and qualifying families.

The Centre markets families products organising exhibitions, and working to improve products to meet the needs of the local market, and to offer products and services of competitive quality.
