Sharjah 24: Sharjah Youth (SY), an affiliate of Rubu’ Qarn Foundation for Creating Leaders and Innovators, in cooperation with the Environment and Protected Areas Authority (EPAA), organised an educational distance learning workshop entitled "Birds in the Sky of the Emirates".
This coincides with the World Migratory Bird Day, aiming to educate its members about the importance of bird conservation, and its environmental importance to the United Arab Emirates. In addition to enriching their knowledge of the fifteenth goal of the sustainable development goals "Life on Land".

The workshop presented by Moza Al Shehhi, a scientific researcher at the Wasit Wetlands Centre, included a set of axes, which are the definition of the role of EPAA in spreading awareness about the importance of protecting the environment and wildlife and preserving biodiversity, along with educating the public on the types of birds available in the Wasit Reserve.

Al Shehhi accompanied the participants on a virtual tour to the Wasit Wetland Centre, through a video clip, during which they learned about the different environments that the centre contains for birds.

The participants enjoyed watching the exploratory adventures in the outdoor reserve of Wasit Centre, and exploring nest sites, and how to navigate the reserve using eco-friendly, electric-powered vehicles.
