Sharjah 24: His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, issued Law No. 1 of 2021 on reorganising the police force in the Emirate of Sharjah.

The law stipulates that Sharjah Police is a statutory civil authority affiliated to Sharjah Police General Command, whereas His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah is the Supreme Head. The Sharjah Police shall consist of the Military personnel (officers, non-commissioned officers and individuals) and civil personnel.
 
According to the law, Sharjah Police aims to maintain the public security, public decency and public order, and to ensure the public security in the Emirate. Sharjah Police shall also protect lives, honour, money, property, vital installations and public utilities in Sharjah.

Sharjah Police shall promote a culture of child rights, and strengthening the societal role to work on preventing crime and associated risks.
