Sharjah24 – Reuters: Spain's coast guard found a boat carrying several dead migrants and three survivors south of the tiny island of El Hierro in the Canary archipelago on Monday, local emergency services said on Twitter.

"The SAR (search and rescue) helicopter rescued three migrants from a boat found south of El Hierro with several dead," the 112 Canarias service said.

EFE news agency said the dead numbered 17.

The three survivors, two men and one woman, were taken to hospital. One of the men was seriously dehydrated.
