Fahim Al Qasimi opens Emirates Fine Arts Society annual exhibition

Sharjah 24: Sheikh Fahim bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairman of Department of Government Relations (DGR) in Sharjah, inaugurated the activities of the annual exhibition of the Emirates Fine Arts Society in its 37th edition at the Sharjah Art Museum, with the participation of 39 artists from the UAE, Arab and international countries, which will continue until June 5.
Under the generous patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, the annual exhibition of the Emirates Fine Arts Society was launched in its 37th edition at the Sharjah Art Museum, with the participation of 39 artists from the UAE, Egypt, Sudan, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, France, Spain, Britain, India, Pakistan and Mexico.

The exhibition, which will last until next June 5, witnessed the presence of Sheikha Nawar Al Qasimi, Director of the Sharjah Art Foundation, Imran Ahmed Al Suwaidi, on behalf of His Excellency Abdullah Al Owais, Chairman of the Sharjah Culture Department, and Aisha Demas, Executive Director of the Sharjah Museums Authority, on behalf of Her Excellency Manal Ataya, Director General of the Sharjah Museums Authority, Mohammed Al Qusayr, Director of the Cultural Affairs Department at the Department of Culture, Salem Al Junaibi, Chairman of the Emirates Fine Arts Society, and a selection of artists from the board of the society and members of the general assembly. In addition to the general public and a group of Emirati, Arab and foreign  artists, media professionals and art lovers.

The new edition of the exhibition comes in exceptional circumstances to emphasise the power of art in the face of such conditions that the world is going through due to the emerging coronavirus pandemic. As exhibition raises the concept of interconnectedness through art, a slogan adopted in its new edition. 

The organising committee of the exhibition choose the slogan of interconnected through art in order to link artists by presenting modernist and contemporary visual works that represent all trends and artistic schools that are interested in the arts.
