Sharjah 24: Poet Butti Al Mazloum, Director of Al Hirah Literary Council of the Department of Culture in Sharjah, stated that every Wednesday morning, poetry readings are organised at the Council, in the presence of a host of poets who love popular poetry at the level of the GCC countries and the wider Arab world.

He said that the council, which was inaugurated by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, on January 21, 2019, focuses on the distinctive Emirati heritage and the Nabati poetry, which has a special characteristic and taste.

Al Mazloum added that Al Hirah Literary Council organises several events and initiatives, to promote poets in the GCC countries and the wider Arab World, welcoming all lovers of popular poetry.
