Sharjah 24 – AFP: A rally against attacks on people of Asian descent draws a large crowd to New York's Foley Square. As the rally was being planned, the victim of one of the city's most recent anti-Asian attacks fell into a medically-induced coma.
The 36-year-old Asian-American was stabbed in the back while walking down the street in Chinatown in lower Manhattan. Senator Chuck Schumer, Mayor Bill de Blasio and New York Attorney General Letitia James speak at the rally, with the mayor saying, "Anyone who commits an act of hatred against the Asian-American community will be found, will be arrested, will be prosecuted."
