Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Sports Council (SSC) will organise the first phase of championships for the age groups in group and individual games in volleyball, handball, basketball, table tennis, judo, archery, bow and arrow and taekwondo, for juniors, brownies, from January 16 to April 1, 2021.

Teams from Sharjah, Al Dhaid, Al Madam and Mleiha, Al Batayeh, Khorfakkan and Dibba Al Hisn clubs, with no less than 600 players, are to participate in these games under the supervision of the sports and development affairs department of the Council.

The Council aims, through this event, to enhance the opportunities for developing the levels of players under the supervision of game specialists and coaches in different clubs, and to support the council’s objectives in enhancing opportunities to explore different talents in these games.

Issa Hilal Al Hazami, Chairman of the Sharjah Sports Council highlighted the importance of this programme, which provides the opportunity for club players to participate in eight group and individual games, in order to provide new talents and support such plans in implementation of the vision and directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah and the follow-up of Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, Chairman of the Executive Council in this regard.
