Sharjah 24: Sharjah Social Services Department (SSSD) organised a graduation ceremony for the fourth and fifth batches of students of the “Noon Caravan” initiative in the presence of Counselor Salim Matar Al Hosani, Head of Sharjah Shariah Court, Afaf Al Marri, Director of Sharjah Social Services Department; and representatives of the Emirates Association for Retired Citizens, as well as a number of students’ parents.
In an exclusive statement to “Sharjah 24”, Al Marri said, "In 2016, His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, launched “Noon Caravan” initiative at the Sharjah International Book Fair. It started with a mobile bus in the neighbourhood offering classes for students who are deprived of school education and social care in an unconventional environment where the school’s works were accomplished through this caravan until a special place has been allocated to teach children in a proper learning environment.”

Al Marri added that “Noon Caravan” is one of the initiatives sponsored by the SSSD at the Volunteer Centre, which cares for children who are deprived of social care, especially the right to education.

She went on to say that charitable educational initiative comes within the strategic plan of the Government of Sharjah, which focuses on the importance of education as a fundamental pillar and a basic right for every child valuing supporting bodies who contributed to the success of the initiative, especially the Emirates Association for Retired Citizens and volunteering teachers.
