SPSA reviews smart systems in the wheat farm

Sharjah 24: His Excellency Sheikh Khalid bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Chairman of Sharjah Prevention and Safety Authority (SPSA), and the authority’s employees, were briefed on the modern technologies and systems that are used in the wheat farm, in Mleiha, and they learned about the biotechnology laboratories and the modern devices and equipment, which contribute to conducting partial genetic analyzes of wheat, in addition to the experimental project, which works on developing wheat strains suitable for the environmental conditions of the Emirate of Sharjah.
This came during the visit of the Chairman of SPSA and a number of employees to the wheat farm. They were received by Mohammed Obaid Al Tunaiji, Director of the Branch Administration of the Department of Agriculture and Livestock in the Central Region, a number of engineers and specialists at the farm. During their tour, they learned about Sharjah’s agricultural experience and strategy, which contributes to enhancing food security and self-sufficiency by adopting best practices and innovative solutions, and employing satellites to manage irrigation operations and provide daily reports on the farm and plant health, in addition to the latest smart agricultural machines that contribute to increasing production, preserving the environment, and achieving sustainable growth.

His Excellency Sheikh Khalid bin Saqr Al Qasimi said tat Sharjah’s experience in growing wheat, adopting modern agricultural systems, and the great efforts it is making in achieving sustainable development and enhancing food security, come as a translation of the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council, Ruler of Sharjah, to make wheat cultivation s one of the strategic tributaries in achieving self-sufficiency.

His Excellency Sheikh Khalid bin Saqr Al Qasimi added that what he saw during the tour of the wheat farm is a translation of Sharjah’s agricultural strategy, which was embodied on the ground by “Seven Sanabel”, the completely organic product, which contains a protein content of 18%, and contributes to preserving biodiversity.
